Muriel Chubb letters, 1960-1969.

Correspondence of Muriel Chubb, mostly to Timothy d'Arch Smith, gay scholar and publisher, after Ralph Chubb's death, about Muriel's collaboration on and publishing of his last book "The Golden City". Their work on "The Printed Work of Ralph Nicholas Chubb" is discussed in many of the letters, and a proof copy of the illustrated, hand-printed prospectus for the book. Also, a hand drawn map of the way to Fair Oak Cottage, Ashford Hill, Berkshire, the house Muriel and Ralph lived in for many years; a few copies of Smith's letters to Muriel; and two letters from Smith to Muriel's assistant and companion, Eileen Hedges.

Muriel Chubb lived with her brother Ralph during most of his life and occasionally collaborated on his work. After his death, she supervised the completion and arranged for the publication of Ralph's THE GOLDEN CITY. She worked with Timothy d'Arch Smith on creating an annotated checklist of Ralph's printed books, pamphlets, and ephemera, THE PRINTED WORK OF RALPH NICHOLAS CHUBB, which was never published.
